They allow students to fully engage with learning videos, primary-source audio clips, and narrated readings without distractions. Instead of passively reading about historical events, students can now hear speeches, interviews, and firsthand accounts, which brings history to life in a way textbooks alone cannot. This technology supports different learning styles, especially for auditory learners and students who benefit from hearing information reinforced aloud.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is the independence the headphones provide. They can pause, rewind, and rewatch videos or replay audio sources at their own pace, giving them greater control over their learning. This has increased focus during lessons and helped students feel more confident when working through complex historical topics. The classroom environment has also become calmer and more productive, as students are immersed in their own learning without competing background noise.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially warmed to using the headphones, particularly English learners and students who struggle with reading comprehension. Being able to listen while following along with text has improved their understanding and participation. Students who are typically quiet have shown greater engagement and willingness to contribute because they feel better prepared. Thanks to your generosity, all of my students now have equitable access to rich, meaningful historical content that deepens their understanding and curiosity about the past.","fullyFundedDate":1768757149522,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-technology/10037600/","projectTitle":"Classroom Technology","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Roberts","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10411184"},{"teacherId":5905148,"projectId":9971111,"letterContent":"I can't thank Donors Choose and the Nevada DOE enough for being able to provide me the opportunity to serve my students through the products requested. Those same students come to me as a counselor looking for comfort in words and nourishment. This project has allowed me to provide a safe space for them to talk and have a snack. This has helped many have a better day. Many donors may see technology as purely a tool for typing or research, but in a school setting, it is a powerful bridge to student connection. By using the Cricut machine, we've turned attendance, a metric that can often feel like a chore, into a source of school spirit and pride. Students are incredibly excited by the \"maker\" aspect of this technology; the ability to design and receive a custom-made decal or sticker for their water bottle or laptop is a high-value reward for high schoolers. It transforms the counselor's office from a place they \"have to go\" into a hub of creativity where positive behavior and consistent attendance are celebrated with something tangible and personalized.\r\nBeyond the excitement of creating, we are seeing a profound shift in how students manage their emotional well-being through the use of the Kindle. For students arriving in the office overwhelmed by anxiety or mid-conflict, the transition back to a productive mindset is often the hardest hurdle. The Kindle provides a quiet, modern escape that promotes literacy while serving as a crucial tool for emotional regulation. We've noticed that students who previously struggled with traditional \"cool down\" methods have especially warmed to this technology. They find the digital interface less intimidating than a physical book and more purposeful than a coloring sheet, allowing them to recalibrate in a way that feels mature and dignified. These resources aren't just gadgets; they are strategic tools that remove barriers to learning and ensure our students feel seen, motivated, and supported.","fullyFundedDate":1768367542634,"projectUrl":"project/incentives-for-attendance-reading-for/10003099/","projectTitle":"Incentives for Attendance & Reading for Resilience","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ayala","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8126950_orig.jpg?crop=1512,1512,x0,y252&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1634062987677","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8126950"},{"teacherId":9368498,"projectId":10015101,"letterContent":"I am writing with deep gratitude to thank you for your generous support in funding my project.
