One of the biggest problems students have in high school mathematics is the inability to perform basic calculations. This inability hinders students from learning Algebra and Geometry by not allowing them to focus on the forms and functions being taught due to the steps requiring basic calculation being incorrect. Many students can identify the inverse operations required to solve an equation but mess up when simplifying the equation. Many students can write an equation representing a linear pair of angles but can't solve it correctly. This is where calculators come in. Calculators allow students to add, subtract, multiply, and divide integers correctly which in turn allows students to focus on the new properties being taught and not their ability to perform basic arithmetic. My school is a great school for students to learn at. Our mission is to prepare our students for success beyond graduation. My students are eager to learn new skills and to try new things. Take a chance on this project.
