Because of you, our students have been given opportunities that go far beyond what we could have imagined, and I wanted to share just how meaningful your donations have been to us.\r\n\r\nThe books you provided have truly transformed our small group instruction time. Many of my students come from backgrounds where access to books at home is limited, so having high-quality, engaging texts in the classroom has made a tremendous difference. The students are genuinely excited to read, and they look forward to working in their small groups each day. I have seen their confidence grow as readers, and they are beginning to see themselves as capable, successful learners. That is something that will stay with them for years to come.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the books, the games you donated have brought so much joy and engagement into our learning environment. Learning has become more interactive and fun, and students are practicing important skills without even realizing how much they are growing. The laughter, teamwork, and enthusiasm I see during these activities are priceless.\r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable experiences, however, has been the hands-on science learning you made possible. The owl pellets were a huge hit! Students were fascinated as they carefully dissected them and discovered what owls eat. It sparked curiosity, critical thinking, and so many great questions. For many of my students, this was their first time engaging in a real scientific investigation, and they absolutely loved it.\r\n\r\nThe butterfly habitats and caterpillars were another highlight that our class will never forget. Watching the caterpillars grow, form chrysalises, and eventually emerge as butterflies was nothing short of magical. The students were completely engaged throughout the entire lifecycle process. They checked on them daily, made observations, and eagerly shared what they noticed. This experience brought our science standards to life in a way no textbook ever could. When it was finally time to release the butterflies, it was a beautiful and emotional moment for all of us.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has created a warm, exciting, and enriching learning environment where my students feel inspired and valued. You have not only provided materials—you have given experiences, opportunities, and memories that will last a lifetime. For many of these children, these moments are rare and incredibly impactful.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my entire class, thank you for believing in our students and investing in their education. Your generosity is making a real difference, and we are so grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1768182829048,"projectUrl":"project/small-group-books-for-big-readers/9994921/","projectTitle":"Small Group Books for Big Readers!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gunther","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5337572_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1699291549211","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5337572"},{"teacherId":10403611,"projectId":10017252,"letterContent":"When the packages arrived, we opened them together as a class, and the excitement was contagious. My students' faces truly lit up. One student immediately clapped and bounced with joy when the bubbles appeared, while another carefully held a new book and began turning the pages again and again, smiling proudly at each picture. Seeing their curiosity and happiness in that moment reminded me how meaningful these resources are for them.\r\n\r\nWe began using the materials right away during our functional play centers. The easels quickly became a favorite spot in the room. Students who sometimes struggle to stay engaged stood proudly painting and drawing, practicing their fine motor skills while creating colorful masterpieces. During pretend play, the dolls and kitchen toys sparked imaginative moments I had never seen before. One student gently \"fed\" a doll with a toy spoon while another pretended to cook and serve food to friends. These simple interactions helped students practice turn-taking, communication, and sequencing while also strengthening their focus and independence.\r\n\r\nThe books have created calm and meaningful moments throughout our day. Students have been practicing turning pages, pointing to pictures, and exploring the colorful illustrations. Even students who typically move quickly from one activity to another have been sitting longer and staying engaged as they explore the sturdy pages.\r\n\r\nNext, we are building on these experiences by creating structured play routines where students practice real-life skills through imaginative scenarios. In our \"kitchen center,\" students will take turns preparing pretend meals, setting a table, and serving their classmates. At the easels, we will continue developing fine motor strength and creativity through guided art projects. The bubbles will remain a special tool for practicing social interaction, joint attention, and joyful movement breaks.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our classroom has become an even more engaging and joyful place to learn. You didn't just send materials. You helped create moments where students connect, communicate, and discover what they are capable of doing.
