All of the items have made up my \"Science Center\" in my first grade classroom at Bunker Elementary School for the past three years. Each of those years, my students have LOVED my Science Center-- especially the science boxes that each have artifacts/fossils from different animal groups. My students have also become narly obsessed with the binoculars and microscopes -- especially because the microscopes can be used with a few items from the science boxes. \r\nDuring this last school year, 2025-26, one of my students brought in her pet snake's skin to show to the class after it molted. We then got the idea to look at the skin with one of the microscopes provided in the STEM School Tools project -- and that was super cool! We kept the skin in a plastic baggie and loooked at it multiple times throughout the rest of the year. \r\nWithout these tools, I know that the majority of my students would not have familiarity with microscopes, telescopes, binoculars, fossils, animal x-rays, or animal artifacts. In the art area, they used pastels with watercolors, and cardstock to create colorful projects, proudly sharing their work to each other. The Expo markers have also made our lessons more interactive—students love being able to draw, write, and quickly share their ideas. The expo markers are also used with our reusable wipe and write pockets. It has been amazing to see how engaged and confident they feel.\r\n\r\nNext, we will keep using these materials to grow our learning even more. Students will explore adding with the 10-frames and continue using art to express their ideas in our studies. We are also practicing taking care of our classroom materials and staying organized.
