“There are many little ways to enlarge your world. Love of books is the best of all.” – Jacqueline Kennedy Research shows that factors in motivating children to read and sustaining that motivation include choice and access to quality books. Our students have been given the opportunity to access over 1000s of book titles online - from informational to fiction; storybooks to novels...but no devices from which to access them. The Kindles would be used as a grade-level set by 126 students. This set will be rotated and allow all students in a class and their teacher to access their online book accounts daily and access these books. As classes take turns, they will be using these Kindles in our outside student garden/courtyard; reading in a quiet and beautiful environment to help instill the life-long love of reading.
