I was able to purchase a number of blank books that the students used to create a story about going on their dream vacation only to end up stranded on a deserted island. \r\n\r\nIn order to write their books, students had to learn how to start a fire without matches, build a simple structure for shelter and purify water. This was done in class and then students added this to their stories. \r\n\r\nThe students had a great deal of fun writing their stories and sharing them with other students in elementary classes. The supplies ordered helped create an equitable learning environment for my students. \r\nThe thermal printer and stickers have been a gaming changing investment for my classroom. With this printer I was able to label our classroom notebooks. Each week I print our vocab lists so students have legible lists in their notebook and we don't have to spend time waiting for students to write each word and definition into their notebook. I'm able to print interactive notes for the students to fill in, saving time and ensuring students are engaged in notetaking. \r\nI use the anchor chart paper to create instructional materials and displays to help with learning. Pencils are loaned out on a daily basis. Students can watch an assigned video and complete notes or an assignment about it at their own pace. \r\nThese specific headphones are a high quality that can withstand the constant wear and tear that comes from over 100 students using them. They have a book talk assignment to complete each quarter, where they need to read a novel and present it to the class. They have to share a one-two minute speech about the book they reading and why they liked it.\r\n\r\nMany of my students struggle to read and the graphic novels are an easier way for them to acess grade level text.
