I had eaten Panda Express the day before #Panda Cares funded our project and my fortune told me that a surprise gift would leave a lasting impression!! That was beyond true when the first box arrived. Although my students are mostly non-verbal they were able to express pure excitement and joy to open it!! \r\n\r\nThe car rug, wooded cars/trucks and wooded garages were the first surprise to arrive. The students went right to work to match the cars/trucks to the garages, line them up on the carpet and race them on the road. There is not much peer playing in my room, but the students seemed genuinely excited to play near their friends and share the cars/trucks.\r\n\r\nThe next package arrived a few days later and contained magnetic boards and blotters. We had a blast blotting colors on giant hearts. Some students made patterns with the blotters, while others filled in the hearts with a variety of colors. One of my students who does not tend to do activities came right over to use the blotters!!! He loved the purple one!\r\n\r\nThe last package contained wooded ramps and balls. The engineering that has gone into creating various ramps extending off every inch of our classroom has been amazing!! They are racing the balls, finding various buckets to have them land in and learning with every trial and error!\r\n\r\nThere are not enough ways to say thank you for funding our program!! I have seen play and interaction with my students that I was not sure would ever happen!!!
