Furthermore, my readers are in second, third, fifth and sixth grade. When they read, they want to read chapter books, just like their peers. Because of your generous donation to my classroom and my students, every student can now learn how to read with dignity. They feel so confident opening their decodable book, that looks just like the books their friends are reading. \r\n\r\nTruly, thank you so much! These books have great characters, colorful pictures and great story lines. We are able to not only focus on decoding (reading the words) but also understanding the story. This past school year was filled with so much joy and excitement over the materials you helped purchase. \r\n\r\nYour donation helped hundreds of students create beautiful works of art, explore creative play, and create an engaging environment that all students can thrive in. Many of the items purchased were for more engaging centers that students could enjoy during choice or center time activities. I saw a higher level of imaginary play and creative building amongst all grade level. Art materials like large scissors, hot glue sticks and Posca markers were designated for my middle schoolers. Since these students are older, they are able to use advanced tools. These students created many 3-D works of art and pieces that included intricate details created with specialized Posca paint markers. The paper that was purchases was used for countless art projects throughout all grade levels!\r\n\r\nWith your donation, students had a successful year in art class! My school is 73% Spanish speaking. As such, my students are not only learning how to read, they are also learning English. This curriculum teaches our students that every word is a treasure. The first treasure of the word is the meaning. My kids so far have been learning that there are multiple meanings for words, such as in the words \"jam\", \"tap\", \"pat\" and \"bat\". This is crucial for my students who are learning both to read and learning English. With other curricula, I taught those things, but without the visuals and supports, not many of the meanings stuck. \r\n\r\nTruly, I have everything my students need with this curriculum and for that, we are truly so grateful!","fullyFundedDate":1724306438653,"projectUrl":"project/its-all-the-rave/8383133/","projectTitle":"It's All the Rave!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Unis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp258435_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1472589559382","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-unis"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_62848","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":259,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":77,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":11,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":82,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"10.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":53.6,"schoolId":62848,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Curtis Guild Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Curtis Guild Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/boston-public-schools/curtis-guild-elementary-school/62848"}
