Like all seven year olds, my second graders are curious, kind and creative and in the prime years of their social and emotional development. I teach in East Boston which is a diverse and ever-changing community. Most of my students are bilingual and in the process of learning English as a second language. My classroom is diverse in race, religion, language, and ethnicity. My students come from Morocco, El Salvador, Vietnam, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Guatemala and beyond. Our families and teachers are deeply engaged and committed to ensuring their children receive the best education possible.
