They've noticed right away that it's easier to produce a clear, steady tone, and we've noticed fewer tired hands and sore shoulders!\r\n\r\nIn the percussion section, our new trap table and crash cymbal cradle stand have been game changers. Rehearsals are running more efficiently, transitions between instruments are smoother, and the students are taking pride in keeping everything organized and performance-ready. They made a huge difference in our winter concert also, as we didn't need to huge our huge percussion cabinet upstairs and could use the trap tables and cymbal stand instead. The book jacket of All Are Welcome turned out to be a poster, which was a surprise! My students are drawn to the books and ask to revisit them. Students in second grade connected with the main character in Always Anjali. We had a deep discussion of how it felt not to have your name on the generic name plates or keychains at the stores, as many students had that experience. Anjali's inspiration and strength that came from knowing the origins of her name resonated with my students and they made excellent comments about being proud of their uniqueness. I think we have a new class favorite!
