As a special educator, I feel that there are added pressures to help our students learn. I feel that flexible seating is one success I have had in my class because it seems to empower my students and their need to have choices but also complete their work. We are requesting stools and 5-position folding chairs for our flexible seating. There are multiple learning styles that I strive to enhance in my classroom while teaching. I feel that the document camera will allow for my visual learners to follow along and engage more effectively. I know that for schools it is difficult to always fund what is needed for our typical students, but for special education, not having these tools to set me up for success in the room, in turn, sets them back. Although I will always do my best as an educator. I will thankfully accept help to make my room an even better experience for them.
