Student folders keep their work organized and make it easier for them to track assignments and monitor their progress. The Clorox wipes and Kleenex tissues help maintain a clean and healthy learning environment. Additionally, the brain teaser book has been a wonderful resource for promoting critical thinking, problem-solving, and student engagement during warm-up activities and enrichment time.\r\n\r\nMy students were genuinely excited and grateful when the supplies arrived. They eagerly explored the materials and immediately began discussing how they would use them in class. The brain teaser book generated a lot of enthusiasm, as students were eager to challenge themselves with new puzzles. Many students commented on how the folders, highlighters, and sticky notes would help them stay organized and make learning more enjoyable. They were touched to learn that caring donors provided these resources specifically to support their education.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our learning journey, students will use these materials to support collaborative problem-solving, written explanations of mathematical reasoning, and project-based learning activities. They are currently working on strengthening their ability to communicate their thinking using evidence and mathematical vocabulary. This year, we practiced blending, texture, and color mixing by creating fake bruises. I will spare you pictures, but they turned out so great. Their paintings were inspired by a 'place' of their choosing. Your donation allowed us to explore crime scene investigation more in depth and go beyond the traditional theory-PowerPoint and lectures and do some hands on exploration. We used the materials to do some mini-labs on the scientific method, blood analysis, and crime scene drawing. From there, we completed a week long crime scene investigation lab from beginning to end where students documented the scene, collected evidence, and wrote crime scene reports.\r\n\r\nThe labs piqued my students interests enough that they elected to attend a forensics fair hosted by our local police department's crime lab. They met investigators and analysts who walked them through what the lab does and how they do it. Local colleges who offer majors in this area were also there to discuss admissions.
