Having everything organized in one place helped students feel more prepared, focused, and confident when they stepped into the courtroom.\r\n\r\nThe students were excited to receive the binders because they immediately made our preparation feel more official and professional. As the season continued, they became much more than a place to store papers. Students constantly added notes, revised examinations, marked important testimony, and used them during practices to prepare for questions and objections. It was wonderful to see students take such ownership of their materials and of their roles on the team.\r\n\r\nAdvancing from regionals to the state competition gave our students the opportunity to continue challenging themselves against some of the strongest Mock Trial teams in Louisiana. We are using the Chomp Saw regularly as we design and build cardboard sculptures, prototypes, and collaborative installations. One standout moment was watching a group of students transform a simple sketch into a sturdy, multi-layered structure—something that would have been nearly impossible with scissors alone. The tool has made the process smoother, safer, and far less frustrating, allowing students to focus on creativity rather than limitations.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were immediately excited and eager to try them out. There was a noticeable shift in confidence—students who were previously hesitant to work with cardboard jumped in, knowing they now had the right tools to succeed. They were especially proud of how clean and precise their cuts could be, and many students commented on how \"professional\" their projects felt.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we are continuing to build on these skills through more complex design challenges that incorporate planning, problem-solving, and collaboration. Students are beginning a new project where they will create functional or interactive cardboard designs, applying what they've learned about structure and technique. Your support has truly expanded what's possible in our classroom, and we're excited to keep creating, experimenting, and growing.","fullyFundedDate":1769177840314,"projectUrl":"project/cutting-loose-with-cardboard-creations/9815454/","projectTitle":"Cutting Loose with Cardboard Creations!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Reed","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7829110_orig.jpg?crop=326,326,x266,y140&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1619635981351","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7829110"},{"teacherId":9650845,"projectId":10122403,"letterContent":"Your generosity is overwhelming! Because of your generosity, my students now have the opportunity to create their own podcasts entirely in Spanish. This technology has transformed the way they practice speaking and listening, two of the most important skills when learning a new language.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, speaking in another language in front of the class can feel intimidating. The podcast format gives them a different way to practice. They can record, listen to themselves, and try again until they feel proud of their work. This process encourages them to take risks with the language while also helping them notice and improve their pronunciation and fluency. Instead of simply completing worksheets, they are creating something meaningful and authentic.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for students has been the feeling that they are becoming real content creators. They love planning their podcast topics, writing scripts, interviewing classmates, and adding music or sound effects. Suddenly Spanish is not just a subject they study — it becomes a tool they use to communicate and tell stories.\r\n\r\nOne of the most beautiful moments I've seen is how students who are normally quiet in class shine during podcast recording. Some students who are hesitant to speak during live activities gain confidence when they can record and share their voice in this format. I have seen students listen back to their recordings with huge smiles, realizing they can actually carry a conversation in Spanish.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped turn our classroom into a creative language lab where students are practicing real-world communication skills.
