Middle school students, especially during Covid-19, need extra support in the classroom, and often that support comes in knowing when to take a step back and play an educational game in class. My students often come to me stressed and overwhelmed, and I find that a card game or a round of Bananagrams allows them to decompress and have fun in the face of this extremely difficult year and the added pressures of a rigorous learning environment. Strategic card games and word games are additionally highly educational! These games let the students have fun while learning integral skills they will use in class throughout college and in life.

About my class
