They really help every student manipulate the pieces to see why they need to trade a hundred for more tens and a ten for more ones. They also will record their work on the new work mats. They always love using anything new and liked the different colors ( green, yellow and blue) for each place value piece.\r\n I am looking forward to using the square tiles in a week or so to make arrays for the multiples of 6,7, 8 and 9. I plan on teaching the distributive property breaking up the array into two smaller arrays. The students will actively move the pieces to see an easier way to learn multiplication facts. We have also used the square tiles to find area and perimeter of a rectangular shape. I even used the square tiles when introducing division concepts of sharing and grouping and used the base ten blocks when dividing a larger two digit number by one digit like 72 divided by 3 during partner work.\r\n Thanks so much for helping build mathematicians that truly understand the math they are learning with our new manipulatives. They beam with pride when they see the results of their hard work on the latest I Ready tests and MAP tests ( every student made gains and most were double digit gains ).","fullyFundedDate":1771003348697,"projectUrl":"project/math-numeracy-were-counting-on-improv/9874823/","projectTitle":"Math Numeracy-- We're Counting on Improving Our Accuracy","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kruger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3628231"},{"teacherId":3728543,"projectId":9846691,"letterContent":"We wish to express our sincere appreciation for your thoughtful donation of snacks. I have a couple students ive made secret codes with so they can signal to me that they need time in the zen den. This was my first year of teaching and it is certainly the hardest in terms of supplies. So thank you all for making sure my students had a supply-filled classroom from day one. We take notes over new concepts and the anchor chart paper bring the notes to life and makes them visible to students from all angles in the room. The biggest hit out of the resources was the flair pens! I use them as an incentive. Students who finish their work first get to walk around and help/check classmates work with the flair pens. It has been an amazing classroom management resource. Again, thank you all for the donations. This has taken a great weight off my shoulders and allowed my students to thrive in a multitude of ways.","fullyFundedDate":1684367196105,"projectUrl":"project/on-your-mark-get-set-go/7310640/","projectTitle":"On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. King","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9017962_orig.jpg?crop=1776,1776,x0,y284&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1682702386804","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9017962"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_58216","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":650,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":73,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":40,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":42,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":5,"gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"22.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":74.4,"schoolId":58216,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Indian Trail Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Indian Trail Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kentucky/jefferson-county-public-schools/indian-trail-elementary-school/58216"}
