Through this project, my students were able to start second grade with all the supplies needed for a strong start. There was not a single student who had to feel left out due to a lack of supplies. One of the best supplies that our class got was privacy folders. Each student now has their own individual privacy folder that is used during assessments, quick checks, and independent work. This is so helpful for me as a teacher because I can be confident about students doing their own work. \r\n\r\nI am confident that our school year will continue to be smooth and there will be no moment where I am worried about where supplies will come from. With all of our classroom supplies taken care of, I am able to put more focus and attention to the daily lessons. For our entire school year our classroom did not have to worry about having snack during the day. This was so important for student's focus. With students not worrying about being hungry during the day, their focus on work but so much stronger. Providing snacks also helped to ensure that no student went hungry. Our snack supply was so great that I was even able to send snacks home with students who needed it. \r\n\r\nProviding snacks was also a great opportunity to teach students about nutritious vs. non nutritious snacks. There were lessons on what is in our food and how we want food that gives us long lasting energy. We were able to look at the nutrition facts of different snacks and compare the information.
