I want my students to be deep thinkers and action-takers. To advocate for those who are marginalized. To show compassion and understanding toward others. Reading is a great way to help students feel empowered. I have such a diverse group of students and I want to represent them through the literature in our room. I want to further develop their young minds with diverse books that encourage rich conversations about the differences between us. It is through those conversations that we will inspire one another to truly value and celebrate each other.
