Picture books are read daily in my classroom! They are easily accessible to all levels of readers no matter the grade level! Students at varying academic levels can connect with the same story at varying depths, creating authentic learning experiences every day. Picture books are a wonderful way to model reading and writing skills and strategies to our growing learners! They are engaging, relevant, and instructional all at the same time. The specific picture books chosen for this project will introduce students to diverse characters and worlds that they otherwise may never be exposed to at home. The sky's the limit!
