The combination of text and illustrations supports comprehension and helps students visualize what they are reading, which is especially powerful for developing and reluctant readers.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is now more exciting and inclusive. During independent reading time, students are fully engaged, discussing characters, sharing favorite scenes, and eagerly recommending books to one another. Many students who previously struggled to stay focused during reading time are now excited to pick up a book and dive into the story.\r\n\r\nSeveral of my students have been especially enthusiastic about these new books. Some students who were hesitant readers now proudly finish entire books and ask for more, while others enjoy rereading their favorites to catch new details in the illustrations.
