What a semester we had in the first ever Sewing class at my school. I have never before seen kids take so quickly and enthusiastically to a technique and material. We had a such a lovely time together. \r\n\r\nThe materials you helped fund were delivered just at the right time. Students had already learned to sew and explored creating images with regular sewing thread (1 strand). This allowed them to get the basic concept of how to use thread to create value and texture with stitches. This meant they were ready to use color and delve deeper into the art of embroidery. \r\n\r\nStudents learned how to use a hoop, a new and exciting tool, and properly separate and use embroidery floss, different from the regular thread they had been using. I was amazed at that they created.\r\n\r\nThe class was such a success and so popular that administration is considering a Sewing 2 class for next year. This would not be possible without your support.","fullyFundedDate":1762138400915,"projectUrl":"project/sewing-for-peace/9740721/","projectTitle":"Sewing for peace","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Thompson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp412798_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1524766409975","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-thompsonnta"},{"teacherId":10054503,"projectId":9804383,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting my project of hands-on learning. Thanks to your donation, we've had paints, pastels, multi-media paper, water-color markers, and lots of other fun tools to play with. Plus, frames for displaying our best work! There is frustration and excitement at the same time as they learn how to operate a cafe in their school. Their social skills have increased with each other and staff and that has been a goal we are working towards. \r\nIt has been wonderful watching my students grow and seeing their confidence build up on a daily basis.
