Many of my students, particularly the taller ones, are grateful that they no longer need to bend down or crouch while working. This improvement has made writing at the boards more accessible and physically comfortable, allowing students to focus more on learning rather than adjusting their posture. As a result, students are spending more time actively participating and less time feeling fatigued or distracted during lessons.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the taller boards have enhanced collaboration within each group. With more visible space, students can easily view one another's work, share ideas, and build upon their classmates' thinking. This has led to richer conversations, stronger teamwork, and increased confidence as students explain their reasoning. The boards have become a central tool for engagement, encouraging students to take ownership of their learning and feel proud of the work they display.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your kindness and support of my students. We incorporated the 3D printer into a project that I had put in place called simply \"Planter Project\". In this project students work in groups of 3-4 to create a planter (to feed a family of 4) with a budget ($30). This is to represent the bare minimum that a family in our area could spare from their household budget. \r\n The 3D printer was to print a scaled model of their planter to present to a group in a \"shark tank\" style. Haumana were excited to use the various (free) online tools to create their planter design. They were eager to learn the tools so that they would be able to print their creations. One student in particular was very excited to learn that the tools were not too hard to use and how he could connect it to real life. He saw online through being intrigued with the software and learned how many people can create models and sell them online.","fullyFundedDate":1759546346344,"projectUrl":"project/creativity-in-the-garden-through-compost/9773402/","projectTitle":"Creativity in the Garden Through Composting and Planters","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Barrett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-barretthi"},{"teacherId":10242235,"projectId":9908483,"letterContent":"It has been a nice change in the students in the morning, students get to class a little early to get snacks. When the boxes of stupplies arrived to our class, the students were excited to see what was in them. I can say they were most excited to see the two new fans. They cool off our room so nicely. They are able to be placed on medium power and still be quiet enough to not be distracting to the class. They have also enjoyed using the fidget toys. They were so excited to see these and were quick to ask if they could use them. Students have been able to focus more when using these fidgets in class. \r\n\r\nThe students have enjoyed their new pencil sharpener. They are so fascinated that it can sharpen without them having to hold. It is like the little robot of the classroom now. They are in the process of trying to find a name for it.\r\n\r\nOne supply that has been a wonderful benefit was the tennis balls that go on the bottom of the desks. My students helped me to put these on the bottoms of each desks. Now we can move our desks around without hearing the loud screeching sound. It also eliminates any loud noises the class below us may have heard before. \r\n\r\nThe tape has been helpful in adding materials to the notebooks. Another very usefull supply has been the kleenex. \r\n\r\nWith flu and cold season happening, the students have been asking for tissues more often. They are happy to be able to grab a small pack to take with them to other classes or keep at their desk. This is better and more convenient than having to get up multiple times to grab tissue from the tissue box.","fullyFundedDate":1759951176550,"projectUrl":"project/mrs-ks-back-to-school-supply-needs/9556810/","projectTitle":"Mrs. K's Back to School Supply Needs","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kaleoaloha","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8932027_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y173&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758855913872","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8932027"},{"teacherId":6412893,"projectId":9867258,"letterContent":"Thank you for giving my students the ability build community through hands on tactile activities. With the donation of the highlighters, I have seen my students go from being told to grab highlighters to now asking if they can grab one. I see them have the urge to mark their text now and building their annotation skills. The highlights later were used when students were helping their peers to understand ionic and covalent bonds. We will continue to use the highlighters when marking the text and maybe when writing notes. \r\n\r\nWith the expo markers and the dry erase sleeves the class was able to practice drawing their bohr models without having to waste paper or use up all of their pencil erasers. Moving forward, I intend to use the dry erase sleeves for more practice. As the new semester starts, my class will be learning introductory physics calculations. This will be very helpful. \r\n\r\nIf students were struggling with the bohr models, we got out the bohr model kits and this gave them an alternate mode of learning. They could physcially place the electrons and take away when needed. Some students prefered this over the drawing. This kit brought lots of smiles to the classroom. \r\n\r\nMy students have loved seeing the extra tape being in the classroom. They much prefer to use tape over glue any day. They have been using the tape to attach handouts and readings into their class notebooks. By doing this, they have all their supplies in one place. At the same time, they do not have to worry about the papers falling out...this happened in he past with the glue. \r\n\r\nWatching my students gravitate from being unsure what supplies are needed to build success to asking if they can use certain supplies has been fun. I have loved seeing them WANT to use supplies that are available. I have seen them grow in their annotating skills. They went from only underlining and highlighting to now circling words, writing question marks and even adding comments in the margins.","fullyFundedDate":1759236276301,"projectUrl":"project/lets-build-science-literacy/9772169/","projectTitle":"Let's Build Science Literacy!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kaleoaloha","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8932027_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y173&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758855913872","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8932027"},{"teacherId":8833612,"projectId":9772401,"letterContent":"Your donation was put to good use. They weren't just completing an assignment. They were creating items that reflected who they are, where they come from, and the pride they carry for their culture and their community.
