This new surface pro tablet will help me immensely in providing explicit instruction and seamless transition for my students learning from home. The versatility of this do it all device will make up for the lost time of switching devices, the loading time of apps and the use of other online learning platforms. I will be able to do everything, from writing to touching on screen and providing the much needed visual aids in conceptualizing complex math problems my students already struggle with. In the classroom, students will be able to touch the screen benefiting tactile and kinesthetic learners.
I teach special education math and it is very imperative for my students receive the visual aids that is conducive to their learning, especially learning from home. I was very fortunate this year to have access to an iPad in which my mentor let me borrow during this dire time of the need and use of technology due to the the pandemic. The iPad was a live saver, allowing me to work with my students one-on-one in breakout rooms and give explicit instruction using Jamboard (Digital whiteboard). This project will solidify my students learning experiences and opportunities to enhance their math knowledge and problem-solving skills for the future after high school and beyond.
