Just 2 months in, they were tasked to plan, prepare, and execute activites for a ypunger class (1 pre-k and 2 first grade). \r\nIn one particular service project, both students helped put together a slide they needed to present to first graders about proper behavior to remember when entering rhe 2nd grade. Two of the highlighted behaviors were 1. Followimg directions and 2. Effective communication with peers and school staff. At the end of the presentation both boys we tasked to demonstrate two projects with the students to practice these behaviors. They were able to guide all students to make a construction paper puppet and create a design on their black art sheet. Allthis while maintaining classroom management and facilitating as student teachers. - For students who were placed in a settimg outside their regular classroom for extreme behaviors, they showed growth through all service projects. At six and seven years old, my students are at a critical stage of growth and development, and your kindness ensures that hunger will never stand in the way of their potential.\r\nHere is the incredible impact your gift makes in our classroom every single day:\r\n*Unlocking Academic Focus: First grade is a massive transitional year where students shift from learning letters to decoding complex texts and solving word problems. This requires immense mental energy. By keeping their bellies full, you give them the stamina and attention spans needed to persevere through tough academic challenges.\r\n*Fostering Emotional Safety: For children, hunger doesn't just look like a grumbling stomach—it manifests as fatigue, anxiety, and behavioral meltdowns. Knowing that our classroom has a guaranteed, reliable source of food creates an environment where students feel safe, cared for, and ready to learn.\r\n*Creating an Equitable Classroom: In our room, no child will ever feel singled out or left behind because they didn't have a snack to bring from home. Your generosity levels the playing field, ensuring every student gets the exact same fuel to succeed.\r\n*Building Communication Skills: When children are well-nourished, they have the physical and emotional energy to participate in collaborative conversations, share their ideas with confidence, and truly engage with their peers.\r\nBy ensuring my students have full bellies, this project removes the barrier of hunger and replaces it with the opportunity to learn.
