The project-based learning we will be doing this year involves building from scrap pallets. We are beginning with making free-standing garden planter boxes for the other fifth grade classes in our grade level. We are hoping that these boxes will allow other classes and students to grow fresh vegetables and through that learning process to be able to do the same for their home and families. The tools that are being requested will help students in the "Building from Scrap" project save time and energy and be able to not only create wonderful projects pieces from the scrap pallets but also learn skills on how to use carpentry tools that may encourage them to continue building things in the future.
