People love a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.\" You have put smiles on my student's faces with the all the snacks. \r\n\r\n These snacks were not only given for those who needed a morning boost from the Nutri Grain bars, but was also incoporated into the lessons. The students used the Welch's fruit snack for sorting and counting during math. For writing students were given a choice of Oreo cookies or Chip Ahoy cookies as an inspiration to write an opinion sentence. I packed up Capri Sun juice and Rice Krispies treat to serve to them on our pretend plane ride trip to the Bahamas because we were on the topic of places to go. They wanted to go to the beach!\r\n\r\n These snacks have granted my students an opportunity to eat and chat with their peers. In addition they are learning to communicate their opinion. Your contributions to our snack project have done far more than just stock our shelves; they have fundamentally changed the \"vibe\" of our classrooms and school. By providing resources such as oatmeal cups, variety cereal packs, Cheez-Its, Goldfish, granola bars, and Pop-Tarts, you've helped us launch our school's very first Student and Family Food Pantry while ensuring no student starts their day on an empty stomach. The day the boxes arrived, my students were very excited! Some students made comments about how these were some of their favorite snacks, or \"Thanks Mrs. Longley, you got us the good stuff!\" You can tell there was a sense of relief and reassurance that others cared enough to help fulfill a need! \r\nWe are using these snacks in two vital ways, the first is as a late arrival lifeline for students who miss the school breakfast due to bus delays or family matters. The second is as the community pantry. The pantry is a \"no-questions-asked\" zone where parents and guardians can discreetly express their needs and leave with a bag or box of food to take home. \r\nNow that the pantry is stocked, our next step is a student-led inventory project. My students are currently designing a management system to track which items are most popular and organize weekly distribution. We are integrating this into our life-skills lessons, teaching them about community service, organization, and empathy.\r\nBecause of you, my students aren't worried about their next meal, they're focusing on their next lesson. Thank you for making our school a place where every child feels seen and nourished.","fullyFundedDate":1763494123853,"projectUrl":"project/food-pantry-fill-up/9883917/","projectTitle":"Food Pantry Fill-up","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Longley 3rd Grade Achievers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3047227_orig.jpg?crop=2208,2208,x0,y448&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762574287348","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/longley-teach"},{"teacherId":1578371,"projectId":9415508,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our classroom has been transformed in meaningful ways! The addition of rhythm sticks and a portable sound system have brought new energy and engagement to our learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe rhythm sticks have become a favorite among students, helping them build coordination, rhythm, and listening skills during music and movement activities. They're not only fun but also a powerful tool for learning through play.\r\n\r\nThe portable sound system has significantly improved the quality of instruction. Whether we're playing music for movement breaks and leading group activities, the system ensures every student can clearly hear and stay connected.
