My students have learning disabilities include specific learning disabilities, ADD, ADHD, Anxiety, and Psychosocial disorders. These stuffed animals are not just toys. They calm my students when they enter my classroom. It is something that they can hold in their lap or just place on their desk to center them. They can breathe and focus on something that makes them happy. It seems so simple, but it makes a huge impact. My students enter my classroom happy to learn with their stuffed animal. I had a student from the previous year approach me because she was having a bad day. She was crying and had to enter her next class. She was not going to be able to concentrate on Geometry. I asked her if she wanted to hold one of the stuffed animals that you donated to my classroom. Not only did her face light up, but she went to class in a little bit better of a mood. She returned the stuffed animal at the end of the period and you can see that she was feeling better. You did that! I can not thank you enough.
