Students were so excited about using the items brought to us by our generous Governor, DE General Assembly, & DE Dept. of Ed. My first grade students could not wait to begin using the items. They particularly loved every item. They especially loved the idea of having a FLASHFORGE Adventurer 5M Pro 3D Printer that they could use with just 1 Click. Its special features like the Auto Printing System and the fact that it has a 600mm/s High-Speed blew them away especially once I taught them how to go online and learn more about any subject by watching a video for only 1 minute and taking notes of what they Noticed and Wonder! Many of my students have used this strategy to learn and figure out what just about anything means in their own words and they used this strategy to help them understand exact what \"600mm/s High-Speed \" meant. They found it to mean that the number \"600 mm/s refers to the just how fast the speed and the point where the head and main part of the print head moves across the part where it prints. Some even understood that was mean by the word \"rapid\". They found out \"rapid\" meant quick and maximum speed. This they found extremely fascinating with the printer. And they could not wait to see it done for themselves. They also found out older printers used to print out around 100–150 mm/s vs our printer number of \"600 mm/s. So, in fact students were able to use what they know about comparing numbers using greater than and less than and compare the two numbers. It was truly an experience seeing the students applying what they learned in the class with real life application. So they enjoyed trying to make pencil tops and pencil grippers.\r\n\r\nStudents also made sure to try to write their best writing grammatically speaking when they also found out the Mintra Primary Composition Notebooks were donated as well. They took on the challenge to try to use legible handwriting using their Mintra Primary Composition Notebooks, which came in Assorted Colors and read everything well and were even excited to see it was 80 Sheets per book and 7.5in x 9.75in, 1/2 on every sheet. They even learned what it meant to write legible when the challenge was presented to them. They know it means writing you can read versus writing illegible and they know this means writing that you can not read all brought to them because of the new composition books. The words were exclusively taught to them due to the generation donations. Also, they even tried understand what it meant when the pack they read said. The books had \"wide ruled Drawing Area up at the top\". They knew this to be the area where they could draw to explain their writing and it was located on every page versus the other journals they had that did not have this feature. They even undertook what Flexible Hardcover meant, the cover could bend and still but built to make the life of the journals more sustainable especially for primary Grades K-2 and it worked wonderfully especially for my fantastic first graders to use at school as well as at home. Their books were still in good standing order now at the end of the year. \r\n\r\nIn addition an extra special thanks for the 18 inch by 50 FEET ADHESIVE ROLL CLEAR GLOSS CONTACT PAPER which we used for students desk name tags, as well as covers for various things like disposable trip name tags, door signs, and subject signs around the class. \r\n\r\nNow when it comes to the multi-useful VICNOVA Magnetic Clips that came in as a 24 pack. We not only used them as refrigerator magnets at times for our small refrigerator to hang work but we also used them on all or most of our white cabinets and many of our wall spaces including our white board are magnetic as well. These magnetic metal clips worked wonders in our room, wished we had more and especially worked to hold small posters during specific reading and math instruction. Due to the heavy duty and sturdy way they managed to keep items up made teaching and learning more doable. \r\n\r\nLast and certainly not least the \"Firesara Training Grips for Kids Handwriting\" were truly a Top Class fun order. Especially since they came in two different sizes. It helped to aid and grip and train students to write with more ease, correct posture, as well as taught the students the correct way to use the finger grip and it was especially great since these grips were not just for kids but for adults too. So, at times I would use them especially since it works wonders for adults with arthritis, and I wanted to try it out for myself. The grips were designed for students and individuals who are \"righties or lefties\". We happen to have students who are right and left handed. So all went well! These were truly the best and an ultimate hit for students who tried to duplicate these grips using our 3D Printer and you could barely tell the difference between store brought grips versus student made grips using the 3-D printer.. \r\n\r\nIn addition, we loved the fact that the grips could be used initially as erasers until they got too dirty. So, I believe the grips made it easy and fun filled with yet a sense of pride whenever students made mistakes. It just about seemed as if students were making mistakes on purpose. But I did not mind. They found it easy to also learn from their mistakes. They made mistakes which ultimately helped to make sure and ensure they grew and that their writing and handwriting grew and increased across all subjects especially those subjects requiring writing as well as reading for students were taught to proofread their writing as well. So subjects like writing of course, reading, social studies science and math were filled with excitement for it does not take much for younger students to appreciate items.\r\n\r\nMy students also learned how to encourage one another because so many mistakes were made and probably on purpose just so they could use the items more. So, we came up with a saying whenever students made a mistake, you may hear one of them announce \"oops I made a mistake and everyone would join in and say, \"Mistake happen, Captain!\" We said this to encourage mistakes and stop anyone from feeling bad due to a simple mistake big or small as well as let them know they are the captain of their ship and they ultimately would decide on just how far they can and will go in life! \r\n\r\nWe sincerely thank you for helping my students grow and glow and for all the many generous items donated to our 1st grade of Fantastic First Graders!","fullyFundedDate":1761622436867,"projectUrl":"project/our-class-storygoes-beyond-the-frame/9851573/","projectTitle":"Our Class' Story...Goes Beyond the Frame of Things!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Counts","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10326255_orig.png?crop=1080,1080,x0,y781&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761615660321","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10326255"},{"teacherId":10309171,"projectId":9818957,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom project. Books like I Am Enough, The Name Jar, and biographies of inspiring figures have sparked meaningful discussions and helped students see themselves reflected in the stories they read. My students use it during science time to observe living things and learn about ecosystems, habitats, and responsibility. One project we recently started involves students keeping simple observation journals where they record the fish's behavior, what they notice about the water, and how the environment changes after feeding time. A special moment happened when a group of students noticed how the fish would gather near the top of the tank when it was time to eat. This sparked a wonderful conversation about animal behavior and how living things respond to routines and their environment.\r\nWhen the students first saw the fish tank, their reactions were filled with excitement and curiosity. Many of them gathered around the tank with big smiles, pointing out the colors of the fish and asking thoughtful questions about how we care for them. Some students were especially fascinated by the plants and rocks inside the tank and wanted to know how they helped the fish live comfortably. It was a great opportunity to talk about how all parts of a habitat work together to support life.\r\nMoving forward, our next steps are to continue using the tank as part of our science lessons on life cycles and ecosystems. Students will take turns helping with simple responsibilities such as feeding the fish and checking the tank during the week. We will also expand our observation journals by drawing the fish and labeling parts of their habitat. This project will help students build scientific thinking skills while also encouraging them to care for living things and take pride","fullyFundedDate":1766849380803,"projectUrl":"project/where-curiosity-swims-and-learning-grows/9828006/","projectTitle":"Where Curiosity Swims and Learning Grows","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Huff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10308531_orig.png?crop=311,311,x780,y115&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760311689920","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10308531"},{"teacherId":10280823,"projectId":9760506,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting my project.
