The word mapping write-and-wipe boards that have different amounts of boxes for phonemes/letters help students to blend and segment words which helps their phonics, reading, and spelling skills. The boards also have handwriting lines under the word mapping boxes that mimic the Magnetic Reading series' lines to write the complete word, so students get to additionally practice letter formation, handwriting, and neatness. Being able to easily wipe off an incorrect letter or letters with the new magnetic dry erasers your provided helps students to build confidence and willingness to try. I hope you can see the level of engagement and focus from the photos depicting students' use of the word mapping boards! The magnetic dry erase marker holder also allows students to easily locate and grab a marker to write on the large white board on the back wall as there was not a marker shelf attached to the white board. Students no longer have to walk to the front of the room to search for a marker or eraser on the shelf of the front white board which increases learning time!\r\n\r\nAs we are always running out of pencils, your gift of pre-sharpened pencils greatly helps to alleviate locating more pencils or the wait time of having students bring their own pencils from their classroom for ML services. Pre-sharpened pencils are easier to sharpen after they become dull! Unsharpened pencils tend to have the tip continuously break off in the beginning which causes a lot of distraction and delay. \r\n\r\nAfter watching 4Ocean and The Ocean Cleanup videos, students became invested in finding ways they could make a difference in the environment! Classrooms are not equipped with recycling bins, so an enormous amount of plastic and paper from schools ends up in landfills. The recycling bin has helped students build a sense of moral responsibility and learn how small habits and behaviors can have lasting effects on their environment.
