Many of my students are brand new in learning English. For these students who has no idea what's been told to navigate themselves in the world of masked faces is daunting and an added challenge. In general even for established English speakers effective spoken communication involves a rich multimodal context: facial expression, hand gestures, and tone of voice. To support my students acquire English effectively, I'd like them to see speakers' facial expressions as much as possible with the use of clear masks. The use of clear masks also help me to see how they are forming their mouths to produce each sound. Having a disinfectant spray available, students should feel safe (hopefully comfortable too) to practice speaking the new language. The effective language acquisition requires PRACTICE!
