There are many elementary schools in the city that have these, and now Jefferson does too! We had to wait a little longer because of the weather and the snow this winter. Thank you for your patience in receiving this thank you note.\r\n\r\nAfter April break, the libraries will be filled with some of the children's most favorite books! There will also be bookmarks and special surprises.\r\n\r\nThere are several staff members who are also very interested in the libraries and the initiative. The project has brought staff members together in order to collaborate across the building and encourage a love of reading among all school members. We even joked that there should be a little library for adults in the teachers lounge! We can dream... For now.\r\n\r\nThe most special aspect of this project is the encouragement of dual literacy. We will load the libraries with books that are in English and Spanish.
