This routine helps them connect sounds to letters, identify numbers, and build confidence while actively participating. For my students in our self-contained autism program, having a structured, clearly defined space with visual supports like letters and numbers makes learning more accessible, predictable, and meaningful.\r\n\r\nWhen the carpet was first unrolled, the students were immediately excited and curious. They began pointing to letters in their names, singing the alphabet song while touching each letter, and counting the numbers together.
