Virtual learning has been especially challenging for our youngest students. We have implemented Fundations in our kindergarten and first grade classrooms. Fundations is a multisensory and systematic phonics, spelling and handwriting program. I am requesting magnetic letters tiles and boards or multisensory practice that will engage students during remote learning. Manipulation of magnetic tiles to form words is a key component of the program. This multisensory method engages students and keeps them focused on their learning. Unfortunately, students do not have these materials at home and spend most of their time on a computer. Providing struggling students with magnetic tile boards for home use will assist them in developing their literacy skills.
