These books will be used to start our multicultural library! This will allow my classroom to reflect my students, so that they can see themselves in their space. This helps students to feel less alone, more feel validated, and more valued. My students are emerging readers in English, they are more likely to read when they have interest in the material. My students do not often get to see their culture outside of their home, they will be thrilled to see themselves in book. Their reading skills and positive sense of self will sky rocket if we are able to add these books to our classroom and start our multicultural library!
