A document camera is an amazing tool for the classroom. In with the new, out with the old. No more messy transparencies or overhead projectors. This camera allows students to see everything they need to right in front of them. Every book is a big book with a document camera! Students can easily see text as I am reading aloud, look as notes, 3-D objects, articles, and pictures. This allows a close up, detailed view classroom work. Math manipulatives can be placed under the camera to be clearly viewed by students. Paper organization and handwriting can be easily modeled. It allows me to show students how to do the assigned work as things are more easily explained when they can see the work done out in front of them.
