These kiddos benefit from the high contrast and illumination that the light box provides. When our students engage in visual activities they develop visual tracking, scanning, discrimination, hand-eye coordination, and visual memory skills. The lightbox's white, translucent work surface has adjustable brightness levels, and it is an excellent tool for individualized instruction. Our Sunshine Club has been able to offer bi-weekly coffee and tea pop-ups to teachers, and we either wheel it to a centralized location in the school or we travel around with it to reach teachers during classroom hours.\r\n\r\nMultiple clubs have also been able to use the cart for fundraising purposes - students are able to borrow the cart and travel around the school to sell items during fundraising efforts.\r\n\r\nThe cart has ample countertop space and storage space, and the lockable wheels make it sturdy. Bringing a small amount of joy is such a luxury for staff. I am so excited for them.\r\n\r\nThe students are loving rewarding themselves with science-themed stickers each week, decorating their journals and pasting their responses into the composition notebooks with fun Washi tape, and using the highlighters to track how their responses correspond to the scoring guidelines. It's been so fun to watch their growth. My students are able to use the wonderful math question bank, iXL.com, as their primary assignments every school. They can utilize the \"Google Translate\" app to translate each and every page of the assignments into their native language so that they could do the works without language barriers. Before that, I used to print out handouts for my students to do the daily assignments. But it becomes impossible for more and more students who just came from non- English speaking countries (e.g. Central America, South America, Africa, Asia, etc.). Now, nearly one third of the students are English learners. They can't do paper-versioned assignments. IXL with GOOGLE Translate gives them the opportunity to understand the contents fully and therefore they can do the works like in their native countries. As you see in the pictures I posted, within 25 school days, all of my 81 students have solved 41603 problems in 79 statistics skills within 476 hours and 14 minutes. That is an average of 20.5 questions per student per day. I am very proud of my students. And we are so grateful to have you all on our side when we need.
