As simple as it is, the ink in this project was such an impactful gift considering the content I teach. Some of the fundamentals of art and understanding that to become a better artist, you need to work from real life references when attempting more realistic artwork.\r\nStudents often feel discouraged when they are unable to portray something because they think they can do it or they can't. I try to teach them that the only way to learn to draw is to practice, practice, practice, and to use references as models. With a supply of ink, I am able to print out references on the spot. With trying to eliminate screen time and also the unreliable WiFi in the building, printing resources is the only option many times. It is also the only option when using the grid method. I've been able to tailor our AP Biology curriculum lessons to include student-centered activities in which they explore all about chicken evolution, genetics, metabolism, and ecology. The excitement in the classroom was palpable—many students had never played on a full-size piano with working pedals before, and this experience has truly elevated their learning.\r\n\r\nA team of students proudly assembled the piano themselves, and they were thrilled to try it out once it was ready. The new music books have also been a huge hit—several students even selected their recital pieces from these books. Some came in with prior experience but had never learned to read music; now they are confidently reading both treble and bass clef. One of these students chose \"All of Me\" from one of the new books and is so proud to now be able to read the music on the grand staff!\r\n\r\nMost of our piano students are beginners this year, and their progress has been astounding. It's rewarding to see how they have grown from struggling to find Middle C on the first day to confidently reading and playing music with both hands on the grand staff. One student in particular has discovered a deep love for music—not just piano—and plans to continue with advanced piano and music technology classes. They are even considering minoring in music in college! Your generosity has sparked new passions and opened doors for these students.\r\n\r\nThe benefits have reached beyond piano class. Thanks to having more pianos available, students are now accompanying choir singers and even performing as full choir accompanists. Watching these collaborations come to life has been incredibly rewarding and is helping us strengthen our entire music program.\r\n\r\nThank you for making such a meaningful difference for our students.
