The printer is already making a great impact in my students attitude towards writing. For example, I gave my students a pre-writing informational essay assessment. Before doing so I asked them to tell me what animal they knew a lot about. I printed a colored copy of the animal chosen, gave them each their copy, and they promptly began their writing assessment excitedly. Even the most reluctant writer was enthusiastic about writing. Another example I have in the way the printer is making a difference is in the writing journal. Students are writing with a greater purpose, including greater detail, and elaborating on ideas. We had the Los Angeles football club come to our school. I took a picture of my class with a soccer player and made copies for the whole class. They glued their picture in their class journal and wrote about the event. A third example I have, is a a field trip we went to. I printed copies of students experiencing the museum. When we came back to school, I printed colored copies and they wrote about their field trip experience. I can't wait to continue to to inspire my students writing and see them grow as writers.
