Your generosity means so much to me and, more importantly, to the hundreds of students who use our center every month.\r\n\r\nOur old chairs had been around since 1990, so this upgrade was long overdue! When students first saw the new chairs, they immediately commented on how nice they looked and how comfortable they were. It might seem like a small thing, but for students who spend their lunch periods, breaks, and time before and after school in the CCC, having a comfortable place to sit really does make a difference.\r\n\r\nThe snacks have also been such a wonderful addition! Students were genuinely excited to see the granola bars, chips, Goldfish crackers, and other treats. Some of our students come in rushing between classes, meetings, and activities without having had a chance to eat. Being able to offer them something quick to grab has been especially helpful. I love that they know they can stop by the CCC, whether they need help with something important or just need a little break during their busy day.\r\n\r\nOur College & Career Center is much more than a place where students come for college applications or career advice. It's where they attend presentations, work on assignments, explore their futures, spend time with friends, and sometimes just need a quiet, air-conditioned space to recharge. We had over 700 student visits in just one month, and that's only counting those who remembered to sign in!\r\n\r\nAs we continue hosting college representatives, career workshops, and helping students prepare for life after high school, these chairs will be used and appreciated every single day. And the snacks have helped make our center feel just a little more welcoming and supportive.\r\n\r\nI always want our students to feel that the CCC is a place where they belong, where they are comfortable asking for help, and where someone is looking out for them. Your donations have helped me make that possible in a very tangible way.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and investing in a space that serves so many of them. Recently, a student arrived at our office feeling overwhelmed by personal stress. Instead of feeling stuck, they were able to sit in a quiet area, hold one of the Gersoniel sensory strips, and trace its textured leaf design while practicing guided deep-breathing exercises. Paired with a bottle of apple juice, it helped the student feel cared for. Within 15 minutes, the student shifted from feeling panicked to grounded and composed, returning to class refocused and ready to take their test.
