My students would be able to entertain themselves while learning strategy, healthy competition and peer interaction by playing a chess game at lunchtime. This helps students to foster student collaboration, and create school community. At lunchtime students are just milling about often on their cellphones but with a large chess set available to them they will stay engaged at school! Help build critical thinking skills, strategy and collaborative fun for high school kids at lunchtime! Recess is a thing of their past but they are just big kids at heart! Keeping students engaged and motivated all day long so they will like being at school! Often kids have an easier time making friends if they engage in an activity together.
