Preparing students for college and life after high school is one of the most important factors in securing our community’s future. This year, through a partnership with the University of Southern California College Advising Corps, Our High School is hosting its first annual Decision Day, an event that celebrates the graduating senior class and showcases their post-graduate plans. In May, the seniors of MKHS will come together for a lunchtime celebration. This project will fund materials that will help make the transition to college smoother for our seniors. Most students come from low-income households and will be the first in their families to attend college, and providing our students with study supplies and dorm items will help them focus on doing their best in their first year of college. Planners and calendars will help our students keep track of college enrollment deadlines and plan for their freshman year. Study materials, such as notebooks and pens, and snacks will help us put together small study packages to get them ready for their first college exams.
