For many of my Title I students, school is where their reading world begins, and these books may be the very first time they hear a poem read aloud or explore a collection filled with many voices and ideas. Poetry invites young readers in with rhythm, rhyme, and playful language, helping them discover that reading can be joyful and expressive. During read-alouds and quiet reading moments, these poems will spark laughter, curiosity, and thoughtful conversations as students connect words to their own experiences.\r\n\r\nYour generosity also supports important early literacy skills. Short, engaging poems encourage rereading, which strengthens fluency, confidence, and expression. The rhythm and repetition help reinforce phonics patterns and vocabulary, while reading poems aloud builds listening and speaking skills. Most importantly, these books help students see that words can be powerful, creative, and even magical. Thank you for helping fill our classroom with language that inspires young readers to listen closely, read boldly, and fall in love with the beauty of words.","fullyFundedDate":1772206585638,"projectUrl":"project/poems-that-pop-for-primary-readers/10021708/","projectTitle":"Poems That Pop for Primary Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Race","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9319645_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1696800120917","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9319645"},{"teacherId":8070177,"projectId":10096923,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting our library and helping bring such engaging learning tools to our students. The maps are already making a wonderful impact in the space. Our students have always loved the globe in the library—they can hardly keep their hands off it—and now the maps on the walls have expanded that same sense of wonder. Students find themselves stopping to look closer, pointing out continents and oceans, and asking questions about places they see. The colorful visuals have added much-needed stimulation to the room, and it's exciting to see how meaningful they are. They don't just brighten the space—they make our walls educational and invite curiosity every time students walk in.\r\n\r\nThe puzzles have also become a favorite part of library time. Students naturally gather together to work on them, collaborating as they search for the right pieces and figure out how everything fits. It gives them a chance to take a break from the rigor of their classroom work while still challenging their thinking in a different way. They use observation, spatial reasoning, and teamwork as they problem-solve together, encouraging one another and celebrating when the puzzle is finally complete. These moments of cooperation, curiosity, and hands-on learning have already brought so much energy and excitement to our library, and we are truly grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1772049610037,"projectUrl":"project/maps-mysteries-and-mind-builders/10096923/","projectTitle":"Maps, Mysteries, and Mind-Builders","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jena","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8070177"},{"teacherId":8070177,"projectId":10098023,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our library and helping bring new nonfiction books to our students. One of my favorite moments is watching our K–5 students naturally drift straight to the \"new books\" area the moment they walk through the doors. There's always a rush of excitement as they hurry to be the first to open a fresh title, the sound of brand-new spines cracking as pages turn quickly. Soon there are students sitting or lying on the floor, completely absorbed, eyes wide as they explore colorful illustrations and surprising facts. Seeing that spark of curiosity is one of the best parts of our library.\r\n\r\nYour generosity also allows us to refresh our shelves by retiring the well-worn, outdated, and sometimes very well-loved books that have served students for years. In a Title I school, the library is often the place where students discover topics they might not otherwise have access to—from animals and insects to rocks, minerals, and the natural world. Because of your support, our students have inviting, up-to-date books that encourage them to explore, ask questions, and grow into confident readers and curious young learners. Thank you for helping keep our library a place of discovery and excitement.","fullyFundedDate":1772215908004,"projectUrl":"project/books-with-fantastic-facts-for-fearless/10098023/","projectTitle":"Books With Fantastic Facts for Fearless Explorers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jena","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8070177"},{"teacherId":986964,"projectId":9888998,"letterContent":"My kids depend on food to help nurish their bodies to help give them energy to learn each day to the best of their ability.\r\n\r\nThe kids look forward to and even ask about snack each and every day. My students have also enjoyed playing The Floor is Lava with the balance stones.
