Many aspects of a typical Kindergarten school day take place while students are seated on the floor. Due to the layout of the classroom, the area where stories are read, calendar is taught and other learning opportunities take place is on the hard, cold linoleum floor. My students would greatly benefit from a comfortable and inviting area to carry out their learning at school. Having a rug that helps students sit comfortably is important, however, some student need clear, visible boundaries and would find success with the marked seating options of the area rug we're needing. Having a classroom that makes students feel welcome and safe is the ultimate goal in Kindergarten!
