They are working on designs using our school mascot to support our school spirit days and our sports teams.\r\n\r\nAnother component of learning has been the instructions to actually make the buttons. Seniors are able to see how everyday choices around money can have long-term impacts, and many have expressed that this is the first time finances truly felt understandable and empowering. The real-life examples and straightforward language help students connect classroom learning to situations they will soon face, from opening bank accounts to managing paychecks and planning for independence.\r\n\r\nEqually impactful is the fact that students get to keep the book after the course ends. Having a personal copy means this resource doesn't stop being useful at graduation; instead, it becomes a guide they can return to as new financial questions and challenges arise. Whether they are starting college, entering the workforce, or managing bills for the first time, students can continue to reference the strategies and advice long after they leave the classroom. Providing a tool they can grow with reinforces lifelong financial responsibility and sends a powerful message that their success beyond high school truly matters.","fullyFundedDate":1757457042949,"projectUrl":"project/financially-fit-for-the-future/9688016/","projectTitle":"Financially Fit for the Future","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Liu","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9085453_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x125,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1696816426898","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9085453"},{"teacherId":9085453,"projectId":9559769,"letterContent":"Thank you so so much for your generous donations in making it possible of providing supplies that are used every day by teachers and students alike.\r\n\r\nHaving menstrual products readily available for female students in need has made a meaningful difference in our school community. Access to these essential items helps remove barriers to learning, allowing students to remain focused and comfortable throughout the school day without the added stress or embarrassment of not having what they need. Knowing these products are available promotes dignity, equity, and a sense of care, reinforcing that our school is a safe and supportive environment for all students.\r\n\r\nIn addition, everyday supplies such as lotion and wipes for hands and tables are used constantly by both students and teachers. Lotion helps combat dry skin during long days, especially in colder months, while hand wipes support hygiene and quick cleanups throughout the day. Table wipes keep shared spaces clean and ready for learning, contributing to a healthier and more welcoming environment. Students are more motivated to read consistently because their efforts are recognized and celebrated, turning reading into something they look forward to rather than a task they are required to complete. As a result, students are reading more frequently, engaging with a wider variety of texts, and developing stronger reading habits both in and out of the classroom. The excitement around earning rewards has helped create positive momentum, encouraging even reluctant readers to participate and take pride in their progress.\r\n\r\nThis increased enthusiasm is evident in students' behaviors throughout the week. Many students make a point to find time to visit and get new books every week, eager to continue reading and meet their goals. They are also more engaged in the selection process, often sharing recommendations and suggesting new titles they would like to see added. These student-led recommendations not only strengthen ownership over their reading journeys but also help ensure the book collection reflects students' interests, further sustaining high levels of engagement and schoolwide reading growth.","fullyFundedDate":1752185816063,"projectUrl":"project/bookworms-get-the-goodies/9421618/","projectTitle":"Bookworms Get the Goodies!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Liu","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9085453_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x125,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1696816426898","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9085453"},{"teacherId":1720340,"projectId":9912409,"letterContent":"I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support through Donors Choose. Many who once struggled to connect with reading now see themselves as writers and thinkers, finding meaning and confidence through literature that feels real and relevant.\r\n\r\nReading should feel alive in the classroom. Students are beginning to discuss, annotate, and want to keep reading The Poet X!
