Small desks and hard chairs are less than desirable to most students. Comfort and accommodation are key components for fostering and supporting learning. It is necessary to provide students with options such as standing desks to complete assignments or soothing bean bags that they can move and locate to their liking. Simple changes such as seating arrangements make a huge impact on student learning. And having options, especially seating preferences, motivate students to achieve. Deviation from the traditional is needed to make a real, effective impact; things as small as a variety of seating options will change a scholar's outlook on learning and motivation.
