These materials have transformed our play space into a more realistic and inviting environment where students can practice important social and emotional skills. During center time, students take on roles such as caregivers, parents, and siblings, working together to feed, comfort, and care for the dolls. I have seen meaningful conversations develop as students negotiate roles, share materials, and use new vocabulary connected to family life and routines.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their excitement was immediate. They eagerly explored the dolls, gently placed them into the baby beds, and took turns using the high chair. Many students who are typically quiet during group activities became more expressive during play, using language to explain what they were doing and how they were caring for the babies. The realistic materials encouraged empathy, cooperation, and imaginative thinking in ways that truly surprised me.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue using the dramatic play area to build communication, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills. We are beginning a classroom unit focused on families and communities, and these materials will play an important role in helping students connect learning to real-life experiences. Your support has provided lasting tools that will continue to enrich student learning and growth every day.","fullyFundedDate":1762973376035,"projectUrl":"project/heartfelt-hands-dramatic-play-center/9461828/","projectTitle":"Heartfelt Hands Dramatic Play Center","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lyndsey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5159467_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725500694506","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5159467"},{"teacherId":5159467,"projectId":9798926,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous donation for a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card, my students have benefited from engaging, high-quality instructional materials that directly support our daily learning goals. While many families are familiar with technology at home, this platform allows me to use technology in a meaningful way at school by selecting research-based lessons, interactive activities, and differentiated resources that meet students where they are academically. Instead of one-size-fits-all instruction, I am able to tailor learning experiences that reinforce skills, provide enrichment, and offer additional practice when needed.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is how interactive and visually engaging these resources are. The materials include hands-on activities, games, and digital components that make learning feel fun and accessible. Students are more motivated to participate because the lessons feel fresh and creative, and they enjoy learning in ways that go beyond traditional worksheets or textbooks.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who typically struggle with confidence have especially responded positively to these resources. Because I can choose materials at different levels and for different learning styles, students experience more success and are more willing to participate and take academic risks. This has led to stronger understanding, increased engagement, and a more positive attitude toward learning. So far, I have purchased some wonderful Winter rhythm visuals for Kindergarten and 1st grade students. When kindergarten kids compose rhythms using fun words like Santa and Tree, they learn how sounds and syllables can be organized into musical patterns. This playful rhythm work builds early music skills while also supporting language development and creativity. \r\n\r\nPurchasing coloring pages with quarter and eighth notes gives kindergarten and 1st grade students a fun, hands-on way to recognize and remember basic rhythms. These pages support early music learning by combining creativity with simple note reading practice. This works so well before the start of the Christmas break! \r\n\r\nMy third purchase thus far was a Winter Write the Room for music note identification. This worked awesome with 2nd and 3rd graders. It works by placing winter-themed cards with different music notes around the classroom. Students walk around with a recording sheet, find each card, identify the note, and write or draw the correct note name in the matching space.","fullyFundedDate":1760437799307,"projectUrl":"project/teachers-pay-teachers-gift-card/9724496/","projectTitle":"Teachers Pay Teachers Gift Card","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lytle","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5392363_orig.jpg?crop=2320,2320,x0,y232&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689543438917","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5392363"},{"teacherId":8690338,"projectId":9332193,"letterContent":"This summer, our tennis time class was filled with excitement, energy, and so many smiles—all thanks to the generous donation of tennis rackets! Each student was able to have their own racket, which made such a difference in how they learned and participated. With a racket in every hand, students practiced basic tennis skills like forehands, backhands, and serving, all while building coordination, teamwork, and confidence. It was amazing to see their progress from the first day to the last as they became more comfortable and proud of what they could do.\r\n\r\nThe moment the students first saw the rackets, their faces absolutely lit up! Many had never held a tennis racket before, and the joy of having one just their size made them eager to jump right in. The class quickly became one of their favorite parts of the day. We practiced through fun games and challenges, and the laughter and cheers that filled the courts were unforgettable.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, my students not only learned the fundamentals of tennis but also gained new memories, friendships, and a love for staying active. These rackets opened the door to a sport that many of them may continue to enjoy beyond summer school. Your support is helping us do more than just take pictures—you're helping students discover the power of storytelling through their own lens.\r\n\r\nWhile many people are familiar with using technology at home, it's often surprising how differently and meaningfully it can be used in the classroom. The new color photo printer and photo paper you helped fund are already transforming how our students learn and create. For many of them, this is the first time they've been able to hold a physical copy of their own work. That moment—seeing their creativity come to life on paper—is incredibly empowering.\r\n\r\nWhat excites the students most is the ability to bring their digital images into the real world. There's a buzz in the room every time a new print slides out of the printer. They're creating personal photo journals, sharing their unique perspectives, and building a gallery that reflects the heart of their community.\r\n\r\nOne student, in particular, has truly blossomed since we received the printer. She was shy at first, unsure if her work was \"good enough.\" But when she saw her photo printed and displayed, everything changed. She now leads discussions about composition and lighting, and she beams with pride when showing visitors her journal.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our students are not just learning about photography—they're gaining confidence, voice, and purpose. We're so grateful you chose to be a part of this journey.","fullyFundedDate":1746785654995,"projectUrl":"project/picture-this-printing-student-photograp/9271510/","projectTitle":"Picture This! On behalf of my kindergarten students and myself, I want to extend my deepest gratitude for your generous donation to our reading nook. Your kindness has created an inviting and engaging space where our young learners can develop a love for reading, and we are incredibly appreciative of your support.\r\n\r\nWhen our students first saw the new books, cozy seating, and engaging literacy materials, their faces lit up with excitement. The sheer joy and wonder in their eyes as they explored the new additions to our classroom was a moment I will never forget. Many of my students immediately grabbed a book and nestled into a cozy corner, eager to dive into new stories and adventures. One little girl hugged a book tightly and exclaimed, \"This is the best day ever!\" Your generosity has truly made a lasting impact on these young readers.\r\n\r\nWe have already started using the new resources in various classroom activities. One of our most exciting projects has been our \"Story Adventure\" time, where students select a book, read with a partner or independently, and then create a simple drawing or retelling of the story. This activity has not only fostered a deeper connection with reading but has also encouraged students to share their thoughts and ideas in creative ways.\r\n\r\nAnother wonderful moment occurred during our themed reading days. We recently read Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and used our new materials to create colorful character puppets. Students took turns acting out the story, practicing their sequencing skills, and even adding their own imaginative twists to the tale. The laughter, learning, and engagement that filled the room were truly special, and it was all made possible because of your support.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, our next steps include expanding our \"Book Buddies\" program, where students take turns reading to a partner, building their confidence in both literacy and social skills. Additionally, we will be introducing a \"Reading Passport\" challenge, where students will track the books they explore and earn small milestones for their efforts. These initiatives are aimed at fostering independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of reading.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has given my students an opportunity to experience the magic of books in a way that many of them had never before. You have provided them with a comfortable and welcoming space where they can escape into stories, learn new words, and develop skills that will serve them for years to come.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in the power of reading and in the potential of our young learners. Your support has made a world of difference in our classroom, and we are so grateful to have you as part of our learning journey.","fullyFundedDate":1735710611536,"projectUrl":"project/cozy-reading-nook-inspiring-a-love-for/8983831/","projectTitle":"Cozy Reading Nook: Inspiring a Love for Books in Kindergarten","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lyndsey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5159467_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725500694506","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5159467"},{"teacherId":3943286,"projectId":8890429,"letterContent":"The kids were so pumped by all the items that we received for our project \"Learning and Earning\". Many made some plans by counting out how many punches they would need to earn to be able to buy items that they were excited about. \r\n\r\nThe materials we received were different incentive items to stock our classroom store. All students have punch cards and they are able to earn punches for each item of work they complete. They also receive punches for being an awesome human to others and some kiddos earn them for making good and safe choices. We have found this tangible rewards program is highly motivating and this has created overall positive behavior changes with the students we support. \r\n\r\nWe price items based on the cost of the product. For example, we received smaller items like slime that we price at 20 punches because the actual cost of a small slime is $2.00. When we have larger items like a drone that costs $24 we price it at 240 punches. With larger items they learn the incidental skills of delayed gratification.","fullyFundedDate":1730979479596,"projectUrl":"project/learning-and-earning/8890429/","projectTitle":"Learning and Earning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Colegrove","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3943286_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1544815450614","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3943286"},{"teacherId":9817186,"projectId":8906191,"letterContent":"Once again, thank you so much for your purchases to help aid in children's' education.
