I am hoping to incorporate a listening center into my classroom. We read a great deal as a class, but I would like my students to be able to listen to books during free play and center times. Our listening center will be a place of happiness and learning. In order to do this, our classroom needs a new CD player, headphones and books with CDs. Many of my students have special needs and are easily frustrated by equipment that is cumbersome. I am asking for wireless headphones to allow my students some independence while listening to their books, making their whole experience more enjoyable. The CD player can also be use for large group songs and listening activities. This position is new to me this year and my classroom did not have a listening center or any books for one. I am hoping this project is a starting point to increase student exposure to books and school.
