When the first classes came into the library and saw the new line numbers, they immediately used them as stepping stones to navigate their way in. They also learned a new vocabulary word, \"caboose,\" from the line numbers, and they are learning to be more respectful of personal space by using the numbers to place themselves correctly without pushing.\r\nThe snacks have been a big hit every week for my Battle of the Books students who stay after school for an additional hour. The snacks help boost their energy and, I've noticed, help them to settle down to read and munch. In fact they enjoy the snacks so much, I have to remind them that if they were to eat them all now, we wouldn't have snacks for our next meeting.\r\nI use both these gifts daily or weekly, and they have both improved my students' library experience. My students in PreK come to me with so many different levels of self-regulation and self-calming skills. I truly feel that teaching a child how to handle \"big\" emotions is critical to future success in the classroom. \r\n\r\nMy students have responded so positively to the Spot book series and plush characters. They listen so intently when I read about the different spot emotions and how the students can learn to recognize, talk, and deal with those emotions in themselves. It is amazing to watch them look at the books and talk with the little plush characters. They love all the colorful spots and always ask when the spots are going to be out for playtime!\r\n\r\nSince my class is usually the first school experience for the students, it can be difficult to learn the expectations of sitting and listening during whole group times. The fidgets have been phenomenal in helping them to move part of their bodies while allowing for listening at the same time. Your donations have made a real difference in our classroom, and I wanted to share a few moments that show just how meaningful your gift has been.\r\n\r\nWhen my fourth graders first saw the colorful writing folders and new dictionaries laid out on their desks, their eyes lit up. One student even shouted, \"We have our own thesauruses? This is fancy!\" It was such a sweet and genuine moment of excitement, setting the tone for our new writing unit.\r\n\r\nWe are currently working on publishing our own \"expert essays,\" and the plaid pocket folders have helped my students stay organized through every stage of the writing process—from brainstorming to final drafts. The four pockets are perfect for sorting their work, and it's been amazing to see how much more independent and responsible they've become as writers.\r\n\r\nThe thesauruses and dictionaries have also become favorite tools during revision time. Instead of asking me for better word choices, students now flip through their books to find stronger synonyms or double-check spellings. It's building their confidence and teaching them how to be resourceful learners.\r\n\r\nThe parts of speech posters have become an everyday reference in our language lessons. I often hear students say things like, \"That's a preposition!\" or \"Wait, I think I need a stronger verb,\" while pointing to the posters. They're using them to improve their grammar and sentence variety in their writing.\r\n\r\nNext up, we're turning our expert essays into mini magazines to share with classmates and families. Thanks to your help, my students are equipped and excited to revise, edit, and polish their writing.
