Because of your support, our students now have the opportunity to turn their creativity and learning into real projects they can design and create themselves. Students are already using the Cricut to enhance book projects by designing custom bookmarks, book cover art, vinyl quotes from their favorite stories, and creative displays that highlight the books they are reading. It has transformed our library into a space where reading, creativity, and technology come together.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the Cricut and makerspace supplies, they were incredibly excited and curious about how it worked. Many of them had never seen or used a machine like this before, and they were amazed to learn that they could design something on the computer and then watch it come to life. One special moment was watching students proudly hold up their first completed projects—bookmarks and reading-themed decals they designed themselves. Seeing their excitement and sense of accomplishment was truly rewarding.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue using the Cricut for creative book projects and collaborative makerspace activities. We are planning projects where students design reading-themed stickers, classroom displays, and visual projects connected to the books they are studying. These experiences help students build creativity, design thinking, and confidence while also strengthening their connection to reading and learning. Your support has opened the door for students to explore new skills and express themselves in ways that were not possible before. Many students gathered around, smiling, pointing, and eagerly asking to take turns using it. Some pretended to bake cookies and pizza right away, while others watched closely, learning from their peers before joining in.\r\n\r\nSince adding the oven to our dramatic play area, students have been using it to act out real life experiences such as cooking meals, baking treats, and serving foods to friends. They open and close the oven door, turn the knobs, place pretend food inside, and talk about what they are making. This has encouraged rich conversations, new vocabulary, cooperation and imaginative storytelling.\r\n\r\nThe oven has had a positive impact on our classroom by supporting social emotional skills like sharing, turn-taking,, and working together. students are also practicing everyday life skills by pretending to cook, clean up and care for their dramatic play space.
