In our classroom, students use educational programs that help them practice reading, phonics, and early literacy skills at their own level. The headphones allow each student to hear instructions, stories, and learning activities clearly without distractions from the rest of the classroom. This helps them stay focused, build confidence, and work more independently while practicing important skills.\r\nThe most exciting part for my students was opening the box and realizing the headphones were just for them to use during learning time. Many of them immediately wanted to try them while working on their reading programs. With the headphones, they can fully hear the sounds, directions, and stories in their lessons, which makes the experience much more engaging and helps them stay immersed in the activity.\r\nSome of my students who are developing their reading skills have especially benefited from the headphones. Being able to clearly hear the audio support in their learning programs helps them follow along and feel more successful. It has been wonderful to see their excitement and confidence grow as they use this technology to support their learning","fullyFundedDate":1771812644442,"projectUrl":"project/headphones-for-success/10109720/","projectTitle":"Headphones for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gomez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10438645"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_45897","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":864,"numTeachers":48,"percentFrplEligible":53,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":18,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":79,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"18.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":62.9,"schoolId":45897,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about West Homestead K-8 Center on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"West Homestead K-8 Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/miami-dade-county-public-schools/west-homestead-elementary-school/45897"}
