However, there are some kids on our campus whose meals at school are the only meals they get a day. I always supplement these meals with snacks. I have soup for students if they need to take some home, and I always have snacks in the room. We have many athletes who, due to transportation issues, cannot go home and come back for their game, and therefore do not have a chance to eat. In my class I encourage audio books. Many of my special needs students will read and listen to the audio at the same time. \r\n\r\nThis is where headphones come in. Many of my students can only afford to purchase cheap headphones that when kept in their bags often break after one use. If I have headphones in class available for check out, they are guaranteed to have them every time they are needed.\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you so much for helping with this simple but very needed project. During these challenging times, many students are unable to afford to purchase books of there own or can't get to a public library. Stocking these books in the class made sure everyone could read a banned or challenged novel.\r\n\r\nThe independent novel study the seniors do each year allows them to expand their knowledge of books that, at one time or another, have been banned or challenged. The students are surprised by this information and eager to learn why. With this project, they choose classroom jobs to do and had a daily task to help clean the classroom. Some students swept, some cleaned desks, others erased the whiteboard, changed the date on the calendar and a variety of other tasks. \r\nReceiving the wipes and the sweeper were great! My students practice using whiteboards on a daily basis and go through whiteboard markers at a rate that my pocket book cannot keep up with.
