We have been using the resources during whole-group lessons, small-group instruction, and math practice to help students solve problems and explain how they know their answers are correct.\r\n\r\nThese materials have been especially helpful as students work through multi-step problems and strengthen their number sense. Instead of simply giving an answer, students are practicing showing their work, comparing strategies, and explaining their reasoning. This has helped me quickly see where students understand a concept and where they may need additional support. It has also given my English language learners and struggling mathematicians more ways to communicate their thinking through numbers, models, and written explanations.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through fourth-grade math, students will use these resources to tackle multiplication, division, fractions, and more challenging problem-solving tasks.
